GOVERNANCE
Framework
A comprehensive framework that ensures compliance
The Global Logistics Platform Office (GLPO), set to launch in Dubai, is a pioneering initiative to strengthen global trade resilience. In response to increasing geopolitical, economic, and environmental pressures, the GLPO will serve as a global coordination hub, fostering collaboration among nations, businesses, and academia to develop sustainable, tech-enabled solutions in transport and logistics.
The platform will focus on six key objectives: developing trade corridors, improving logistics infrastructure, streamlining trade processes, shaping global logistics dialogue, conducting sector research, and enhancing the resilience of logistics operations through innovation and financing mechanisms.
The GLPO will drive forward a clear set of deliverables—ranging from regular strategic meetings to research publications and an annual Global Logistics & Supply Chain Summit—while promoting best practices and knowledge sharing. Its work will be underpinned by a multi-sourced funding model and a highly experienced executive team, including subject matter experts across trade, transport, digital technology, and sustainability. As a result, the GLPO is positioned to become the world’s foremost platform for coordinating efforts to secure the future of global logistics.
The GLPO’s governance model is built to ensure strategic alignment, operational accountability, and international cooperation. It is structured around two central bodies: the Governing Council and the Executive Committee, supported by a permanent administrative team.
The Governing Council will comprise one nominated delegate from each participating country. This body will provide strategic oversight, approve the platform’s deliverables, liaise with multilateral institutions, and manage budget approvals. Council members serve renewable one-year terms, reinforcing national commitment and flexibility in leadership participation.
Reporting directly to the Council, the Executive Committee will be composed of leading logistics professionals and subject matter experts appointed by the Platform Sponsor. This team will oversee execution, organise the annual summit, engage consultants, and deliver on key initiatives. The Executive Committee is led by a Director General and supported by a team of specialists in trade, transport modes, technology, and sustainability. Together, these bodies will ensure the GLPO remains agile, inclusive, and globally impactful in addressing the logistics sector’s most pressing challenges.

Membership is annual and renewable at each nation’s discretion.
